Max Abmas is an American professional basketball player, born on April 2, 2001. He is known for his college basketball career at Oral Roberts University and the University of Texas.<\/p>
College Career:
\nAbmas played college basketball for the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles from 2019 to 2023. During his time at Oral Roberts, he became one of only 12 players in NCAA Division I men’s college basketball history to score more than 3,000 career points. He was a three-year letterman and a prominent scorer. In the 2020-21 season, he was the leading scorer in the NCAA, averaging 24.5 points per game. He earned First Team All-Summit League honors as a junior and was also named to the NABC All-District 12 first team. He recorded 20 or more points 18 times and had six games with more than 30 points. He also led Oral Roberts with 110 assists and 29 steals in the 2021-22 season. He then transferred to the University of Texas for the 2023-24 season, where he continued to be a key player. He earned Second Team All-Big 12 recognition and Men’s Basketball Academic All-America of the Year honors. He played and started in 30 of 31 possible games in the 2022-23 season, averaging 22.8 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.<\/p>
Drafts and Professional Career:
\nMax Abmas was not drafted in the 2024 NBA draft. After the draft, he joined the Utah Jazz for the 2024 NBA Summer League. On September 16, 2024, he signed with the Utah Jazz, but was later waived by the team on October 8, 2024. He then joined the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA G League on October 28, 2024, where he last played. He was cut by the Jazz on October 14, 2025, due to a coaching decision, and was expected to continue playing for the Salt Lake City Stars.<\/p>
