Tidjane Abdoul Salaün, born on August 10, 2005, in Paris, France, is a French professional basketball player who currently plays as a power forward\/shooting guard for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Salaün’s personal connection to basketball runs deep, as both of his parents played the sport, and his sister, Janelle Salaün, played in the EuroLeague Women and for the French women’s national team, now with the Golden State Valkyries. He is of Guadeloupean descent. Salaün began his basketball journey by taking out his first license in 2013 at AS Orly. He continued his amateur and youth career at various clubs, including COSM Arcueil, Saint-Charles Charenton, and Centre fédéral, before joining the Cholet Basket youth team in the LNB Espoirs, the French under-21 league, in 2021.
