The Los Angeles Lakers ended their seven-game losing streak in season openers with a 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on NBA opening night this Tuesday. The Lakers took control early, leading by as many as 19 points in the first half. Anthony Davis led in offense and defense with a game-high 36 points, 16 rebounds and four assists.

Rui Hachimura also made an impact, finishing with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and one assist. LeBron James, who alongside his son Bronny scripted history contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and four assists.

The Lakers asserted their defense, forcing the Timberwolves into 15 turnovers, 11 of which came in the first half.

For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards was the standout, posting 27 points on 10-of-25 shooting, including 5-of-13 from beyond the arc. Julius Randle, in his Timberwolves debut, was kept quiet in the first half, scoring only five points but he made a comeback and finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and four assists.
