Rashee Rice injury update : The surgery was not for ACL

Andy Reid gave some updates on Rashee Rice's surgery on his knee

Rashee Rice will not play during this 2024 NFL Season, but his injury was not as serious as it was supposed to be.

During Week 4 against the Chargers, Rashee Rice suffered a knee injury but surgery came after almost two weeks. In the meantime, Chiefs announced that he was out for the rest of the 2024 season.

On Monday, Chiefs’ head coach, Andy Reid gave some updates to the press regarding the status of his standout receiver. The surgery made on Rice’s knee was not meant for repairing damages on ACL.

“Rashee (Rice), his surgery was not his ACL. It was the Posterolateral corner (PLC). There was damage there. It’s probably the same result,” said Reid. “you get time-wise for an ACL, it takes a while for that to come back, and he’ll get into his rehab and get rolling on that as we go here. So, but that’s what it was.”

After a standout first season with the Chiefs, Rice established himself as a reliable primary receiver for Patrick Mahomes.

In the first three games of the season, Rice led the team with 24 catches for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns.

In Week 7, the Kansas city Chiefs will have a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Levi’s Stadium on Sunday October 20th at 4:25 pm ET.
