Karl-Anthony Towns makes a statement in his fourth game for the Knicks
Karl-Anthony Towns dropped a statement performance against the Miami Heat. On Wednesday night, the New York Knicks took on the Heat as Towns went wild in just his fourth game for the side.
Towns scored a season-high tally for any Knicks player so far. He recorded 44 points as the Knicks won the game 116-107. With this performance, it looks like Towns might be the perfect fit for the Knicks-Heat rivalry.
While speaking to MSG Network after the game, he was asked why he likes games in Miami so much. To which Towns responded by saying:
“The weather, I was in Minnesota. It’s cold. It’s hot here. I like that.”
Karl-Anthony Towns was traded to New York by Minnesota in a deal this summer. The deal also saw Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo being traded as well. While his previous three games with the Knicks were not bad, his game four was certainly a statement of his arrival.
Towns had already scored 24 by halftime and kept rolling in the second half. He was 17-of-25 from the floor, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had the fourth-most points ever by a Knick against the Heat in the 173rd game between the clubs.

The 44 points are also the most in a game by a Knicks center since Patrick Ewing back in 1995. Moreover, Towns became the first Knicks player with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 65% shooting in a game since Carmelo Anthony back in 2014.
