Haason Reddick Trade update : Jets grant permission to seek a trade

Haason Reddick's holdout is one step closer to be resolved

After hiring two new agents, Haason Reddick just received the permission from the New-York Jets to find a trade within a short window according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.

Right after getting traded from the Philadelphia Eagles, Haason Reddick started a holdout seeking for a contract extension. He skipped OTA’s and mandatory minicamp and has yet to play a game in the 2024 season.

On October 14, Reddick hired two new agents in order to clear things up and find a solution to this holdout. Since yesterday, Drew Rosenhaus, Reddick’s new agent, has been reaching out teams to evaluate interest on the market.

He also talked with Jets’ GM, Joe Douglas about a way to work out the best deal possible for both parts.

How much has Haason Reddick already forfeited ?

Skipping mandatory minicamp and missing games come at a price.

With already 6 games missed, Haason Reddick has forfeited around $800.000 per game plus $5 million dollars for skipping mandatory minicamp.

This season he was expected to earn $14,250,000 salary.

One important thing to note is that if a trade isn’t found, Reddick has until Week 13 to report to the team, unless his contract is subject to an expiry period and his rights extended to the Jets until next season.

The New-York Jets acquired Haason Reddick in a trade last march with the Eagles sending a conditional 2026 third-round pick.
